The contraction of time

Sitting here on the couch with my two week old son asleep on my chest. I feel like I'm already missing this time in his life. Time has felt strangely compressed in the last several years, the days constantly seem to finish faster. Months fly by and before you know it, January has gone and it's suddenly December. I feel like I'll blink and he'll be 5, then blink again and he'll be 11, and then blink once more and he'll be all grown up.
